Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 3 in D minor, 1st mov, Part 1/2
This concerto is considered as one of the hardest works written for the piano and orchestra and was for a time thought to be a "man's" concerto. Filipina pianist Ms Santamaria along with the other female soloists of this concerto clearly dispels this myth. This concerto is also prominently featured in the critically-accl aimed film "Shine", starring Geoffrey Rush as the pianist David Helfgott.

Add to EJ Playlist Paderewski's performance of his Minuet in G has two elements that nearly all others lack. Those elements are charm and subtlety.Padere wski, the composer, plays this composition as he conceived it. In other words, as a delightful, char ming minuet. This is not a piece that is well served by the "anything you can play, I can play faster," type of pianist.
