Add to EJ Playlist Fleetwood Mac performing Peter Green's classic 'Black Magic Woman' in New York City on (probably) 31st August 1972 - audience recording.
It's remarkable that Danny Kirwan played second (lead) guitar, during the guitar duets, next to Peter Green (in the original Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac live shows), but in this tour he took care of both the lead guitar parts and the lead vocals. Although he shares a nice, extended guitar duet with Bob Welch, who also does some vocal improvisations at the end of the song.
This is probably the last live concert ever recorded with Danny Kirwan. Another interesting fact is that according to the band, Kirwan was fired in August 1972, so it's rather odd he was still in the band at this particular moment. Until this very day it remains a mystery when and where this infamous guitar smashing/head-a gainst-the-wall banging - which led to his subsequent dismissal - took place...
