Add to EJ Playlist  Here is me uploading a video after one year! I made this little hommage to Paraguay and to its most prominent composer, Agustin Barrios mangoré. I recorded this piece more than one year ago, and I didn't know what to di with it....but now I decided to make this video! I hope you will like it :-)

Add to EJ Playlist  This is me playing the "Pavane number one" from Luis Milan's book called "Libro de musica de vihuela de mano, intitulado El Maestro" (Music book of hand vihuela, entitled The Master). Luis de Milan (also known a Lluis del Mila, 1500 - 1561) was a very influent and important vihuelist (instrument similar to the modern guitar) and composer from the renaissance era, and it's importance is more remarkable if we know that he was actually the first composer to put a tempo mark on the scores. I hope you will like this piece! I think it's really nice.... :-D

Add to EJ Playlist  This is me playing the piece I love the most from the classical guitar repertoire: Homenaje pour le Tombeau de Debussy by Manuel De Falla..... this will always be the piece I will practice until I will disappear from this world, since it is the most straight forward and intense piece that the guitar could ever get in its short lifetime...... I already recorded a video of this piece 3 years ago, but honestly, it was not ready.....but at least, I can attach the explanation for this piece which I wrote almost 3 years ago: "I am playing the original version published by La Revue Musicale in 1920....... As Suzanne Demarquez explains: "Falla's piece is a funeral dirige, a symbolic threnody, so frequent in Spanish poetry, influenced by the musical essence and spirit of his departed friend (Debussy). Its harmony rests on the fundamental fourth f the typical -and so beautiful- chord of the guitar , E-A-D-G-B. Falla places a short rhythmic phrase on this fourth, a kind of muted and bitter lamentation which resounds like a knell throughout the piece. Several echos of Iberia (symphonic poem by Debussy) form the beginning of a theme, a brief motif in triplets marked by the characteristic chromaticism and the augmented second (bars 8-15). The special resources of the guitar are skilfully exploited through arpeggios, very open chords, glissando scales, punteado effects, and octave harmonics...... ..the Piu Calmato ending sets in bold relief, like a brief ray of moonlight, the clear appearance of a textual citation of the habanera motif, evoking "La Soiree dans Grenade". It is followed by a brief pause. The knell sounds for the last time and gradually fades away in the silence." " I hope you will like it :-)
