Jethro Tull 9/27/1975 Veterans Memorial New Haven, Ct. USA 8mm film clips w real sound

Add to EJ Playlist  Update: Jethro Tull 9-27-75 New Haven, CT Live! 8mm silent film clips synced w actual sound from 9-27-75 New Haven CT Film sync and video edit by tulltapes Audio recording (up to aqualung) by Dan Lampinski. VIST WWW.JETHROTULLG RUOP.COM The second show of the "Minstrel in the Gallery" US tour! Since a nice audio recording has recently surfaced from Dan Lapinski I have now confirmed these clips are definitely from 9-27-75 New Haven, CT just after the US release of Minstrel. I haven't seen any other film clips from this part of the 75 tour. While essentially the same as earlier 75 shows, there was some pretty substantial changes including "Sealion" and "Warchild" both being omitted along with their theatrics. The New Haven audio unfortunately is incomplete. This is because the taper Dan Lapinski had his mics and recording gear confiscated right after Bungle you can hear this on the recording. I had to use the audio from Toronto (a week later) to finish the film sync. During "Wind Up" a fan hands Ian a crown to which he stops for a second and puts it on his head. (There is a snapshot of this in the 20th anniversary book). The pause is not on other recordings therefore there is a cut in the audio at that part. Would have loved to have the rest of the audio for this!! You can discuss this and anything else Tull related at jethrotullgroup .com there is a message board, youtube channel, and social media links. Enjoy the Tull!

Jethro Tull Passion Play cover acoustic guitar

Add to EJ Playlist  Even the connecting sections of Tull's A Passion Play are compositions in themselves. This started out as a jam with drummer Johnny O. and got a little carried away.

Jethro Tull 1976 European Tour - First Glasscok historic concert 8mm film + sound sync update

Protect and Survive - Martin Barre - Jethro Tull Acoustic guitar cover

Add to EJ Playlist  I've always loved Martin Barre's version of Tull's "Protect and Survive" originally from the "A" album and reworked in 1993 by just Martin himself at his own Presshouse Studios. I have never played this before so I took a couple nights to tab it out and learned as I went along.

Jethro Tull Rock Concert Documentary 1977 NY Madison Square Garden 70'S

Add to EJ Playlist  1977 rock concert documentary featuring Jethro Tull. WOR NY Live performances and soundcheck footage filmed at Madison Square Garden in Nov 1977. Great performance footage (pretty rare) with John Glasscock. Mid-Gen VHS conversion. Performance audio sections were enhanced with a better recording of this concert. Quality issues and glitches could not be helped. Hopefully an excellent quality version of this documentary will surface before long. Until then, enjoy!

JETHRO TULL May 9th, 1972 Cincinnati 8mm film clips FRONT ROW shot THICK AS A BRICK

Add to EJ Playlist  Filmed by Via Lila Very short clips mixed with stills. Rather dark film but nice! How cool is this! Rare to see any Tull film from this era. This was shot from the FRONT ROW by Via Lila at the Cincinnati Gardens in 1972. 40 years ago! The silent film was painstakenly transferred by myself. I did my best to sync audio with however I do not have a recording from this show. If someone knows of an uncirculated recording from Cincinnati 1972 please contact me tulltapes@yahoo .com Thanks to Via for the great film!

Jethro Tull 1977 Super 8 film transfer Civic Auditorium Pasadena, Ca. USA

Add to EJ Playlist  Newly transfred and synced film donated by Davy Hall. Originally thought to be from Buffalo, NY (see underwwraps2's channel) however, this is actually from the first night of the Songs from the Wood Tour. While trying to sync this silent film with audio I realized that Ian was singing "Bungle in the Jungle" which was only played once in 77. The first night of the tour. Having a good boot from this show which fit perfectly made it possible for me to present these small film clips with it's actual audio (With the exception of the banter after "new day" where my Pasadena boot cuts out) The actual film itself was in rough shape being around 35yrs old now. Some nice closeups w glasscock etc..Thanks Davy! Enjoy!

Jethro Tull Paris 1975 Pro film excerpts + Minstrel in the Gallery Live audio

Add to EJ Playlist  Jethro Tull pro shot 1975 concert update. There is alot of confusion about this notorius film. Here we have excerpts filmed at the Palais des Sportes Paris, France 3/7/75. Including famous "Minstrel In The Gallery" promo. This upgrade is my second fuse with Tony Palmer's "All you need is love" (TV series, originally broadcast worldwide between 1976-80) version mixed with the unfinished promo. Originally filmed for laser disc but never released. There is also an amazing pro audio recording from this show out there. You can hear the "Critique Oblique" section of "A Passion Play" from this very recording on the 25th anniversary boxset. Tull shot 2 mimed versions of Minstrel (for promo use) the day of the show prior to the soundcheck, then later filmed 75 minutes of the live Paris concert. Tony Palmer's version of the mimed promo included actual film excerpts from the live concert used as B-roll and over some interviews. You can see the difference in lighting etc.. as to which is actual concert film. I managed to sync up the brief live clips with a great audio recording from the show right before this one.July 3rd Sportsgalle Böblingen, Germany. I then synced up the Minstrel section for the first time with an actual live recording (again from boblingen) I included a clip from "all you need is love" of Lester Bangs sounding like a fool. Also if you wish to see the possibly live acoustic intro to Minstrel from this show (although the quality is rough) and for more info please search youtube for paulhartXYZ or underwwraps2. Will we ever see this full pro shot mid 70's Tull concert? I hope so! Obviously Ian has posession of this show. I assume as with other films and audio Ian is too much of a perfectionist to ever let everything out. Maybe he is embarassed of the codpiece era? If the setlist from July 3rd is an indication this would be an incredible DVD! A pro shot Tull show with Jeffery Hammond Hammond, and the "ladies" string section! July 3rd Sportsgalle Böblingen, Germany Minstrel/Wind-U p, Passion Play (Critique Oblique), Thick As A Brick (excerpt), Wond'ring Aloud/Again, My God (incl. flute solo), Cross- Eyed Mary, Minstrel In The Gallery, Skating Away..., Guitar Instrumental/La dies (w. Drum Solo), 'WarChild Suite' (piano & strings)/Instru mental, SeaLion, Bungle In The Jungle, Aqualung, Guitar Solo, Back-Door Angels, Minstrel In The Gallery (Intro), Locomotive Breath/Hard-Hea ded English General/Back-Do or Angels (reprise)

(Unless a wealth of footage is someday discovered) This July will already be 4 years since I uploaded my 1st Passion Play film. This was before Youtube could handle high quality video and I was using software that allowed only one track of video editing. Even with those limitations the response I have had from that film was shocking to me. I literally have hundreds of e-mails and they're still coming. (this is also when youtube allowed you to search and find the videos you were looking for) This mystical concert had an even greater impact on those who saw it than I had thought, and those who weren't there were able to imagine what it might have been like. This update to my Passion Play film is much improved. Both quality and sound sync. More of my original intent. Mainly film from Oakland 1973 and Madison Sqare Garden. This is the best version of Oakland 73 I have found. The sound for the entire film is also Oakland. This film has always had actual sound but has also always been out of sync so I finnaly fixed the audio sync on this. I also did some color correction and reduced the screen size in an attempt to acheive the best quality I could from it. I just couldn't get that with fullscreen. It would, at times look crummy. I want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way I considered part of the tulltapes team including Electrocutas Pete, Davy Hall, Tullpress, bootlegstullian os, Ministry of Information, All my family and friends from the Tull heyday, PaulHartxyz, & underwwraps2 (who has his own nice collection of Passion Play videos) and everyone I forgot. A very special Thanks to my friend Chris Crump who was actually part of the travelling Passion Play circus. Controlling the lasers during Ian's flute solo, Juggling on stage during Martin's guitar solo, or playing Sunshine of your Love on the drums as Ian looked on before Tull's soundcheck. It was one of the most memorable experiences of his life and I thank him for sharing some of those great stories with me and moments with us. His excellent photos shown in this film were taken from the front row in Los Angeles.. July, 18th 1973 Thank You
