Speaking of feedback, I will apologize in advance for the feedback sound effects I put on the rest of her recordings that day, 40 years ago. It's not like I thought the whole world would hear it. Or, maybe I did.

Add to EJ Playlist  1973- Delta Burke was Miss Florida. I was 19 and she was 17, the youngest Miss Florida in history. It was a few weeks before she was to try for Miss America and several years before she became a star, and before Aaron had real studio equipment. We were playing with my first real tape recorder and a reverb effect I designed myself which may be annoying, but, we were kids, Delta had never heard her own voice before, and we both had dreams of stardom. This is just the first 2 minutes of 20 minutes of experimentation . If you want to hear more of this, let me know.

Add to EJ Playlist  The Rock-afire Explosion helps surprise Tony's girlfriend, Sam, with his proposal of marriage. As usual, Looney Bird messes everything up, but, Sam is forgiving of Tony and Looney Bird, and everyone lives happily every after! As an inside note, the song that the Rock-afire plays for them, "Automobile" by Gospel Music is a song Tony and Sam enjoy together and the discussion the Rock-afire has about the double drum beat is part of an inside joke between Tony and Sam. We were hoping that Sam would enjoy the surprise of having the Rock-afire discuss this.

Add to EJ Playlist  I sent this "training" video clip to Tony who was planning on asking his girlfriend, Sam, to marry him, with the musical/comedic help of The Rock-afire Explosion. In this clip, I am playing the part of Tony who can't figure out what he did with the ring as he tries to propose and discovers it isn't in his pocket.

Add to EJ Playlist  As we continue to try new things, this song has a much greater degree of Dook actually playing free style on his drums. I'm experimenting with all I can get out of Dook's rudimentary drum capabilities so that when 2nd generation Dook comes out, I'll be ready to tackle the greater capabilities and challenges. My assistant programmer, Kat Quast did the rest of the programming while I focused on the drums.. Another experiment in this video is the way it was filmed so that you can watch any part of the show you want at any time rather than force you to watch our edit decisions.

Add to EJ Playlist  In this clip I am programming the high hat on Dukes Drum set. The song is a foreign children's kiddy song. But, it rocks! I am keeping beat with my left hand while pulsing the button with my right hand on the off beat in order to make the cymbol hit on the beat. That helps me make up for the delay from the time I press the button to the moment that the cymbol actually closes. It's about a half beat delay.
