autobots9786: 'air bearings' are not really a new technology. Hard drives use the same thing between the the disks and they still work on their side.

TurbinationE: I don't know anything about your other points, but I do know that it works in any orientation, due to magnetic attraction between the plate and the floating part.

BigBlueDog810: This is a nice fan but I don't see it cooling better than current tech. Sounds like an air insulator.

Bruno POLLERI: also, hard to ensure that entry air will be cold. However the amazing thing is how it demonstrate how unefficient most market air coolers are. Makes me more confortable with my patent.

Bruno POLLERI: although this is a nice design (the sink being the turbine is a great idea), i see some weaknesses : The rotor is much heavier than a plastic fan : gyroscopic effect, not friendly with a moving system. It seems to rely on horizontal component position only, I would be curious to see how it works in other positions. What would happen under high accelerations, shocks ? I seems to be as fragile as a HDD. This cooler throws hot air on side components (as many today's coolers thougt.

RayZ fox: In conclusion i would like to see the data. I suspect the data to be dismal. I encourage any investors thinking of investing to first see the data for the number of watts dissipated then check it against traditional coolers.

RayZ fox: Because air has a very low coefficient of heat transfer. If you take a standard heat sink you will find that it has maybe 50-60 square centimeters in which heat can disparate aided by a fan. In order for the Sandra Cooler to work it first has to go though 6 square cementers then into air then back into 6 square centimeters then it finally gets the the 50-60 square centimeters part to finally dissipate. I'm not going to say it wont work. But i doubt it works better.

Ratch3ta: If it was fully detached from the base it would also stop spinning from being disconnected from the motor. Imagine the air that forms from the separation as more of a solid bearing and it will make more sense. If was disconnected it would also probably spin wildly out of control unless it was perfectly balanced, thus it can be assumed that the spinning motion keeps it elevated off the surface but its held down and in place by motor connection and centripetal force respectively.
