YISUHERE: Sorry if I sound all stuck-up and annoying, but I'm seeing this in the comments and I just wanted to clarify. This isn't called "Japanese dub". It's just "Japanese". It's the original. A dub is called a dub because the language is different from the original. All other languages this movie is in are dubs.

pockyreiko: I watched the English trailer first and I thought "oh, this isn't that bad..." And then I watched this and I was like "OH GOD I WAS SO WRONG"

monkeymouse: In the book the Boy was a few years younger than Arrietty. Miyazaki made them the same age, and now it's a bittersweet story of an impossible love. The scene where they have to say goodbye is very moving. If you can, get the Japanese DVD with the British voice track. Cheaper than the Disney dub, without the extra baggage of the Blu-ray combo pack. Plus Norton's book is set in England, so it sounds natural for once. Best dub since Porco Rosso.

Andreazor: The dubbed movies tend to add lines of dialogue or sounds that aren't even present in the japanese version, so I agree. Though the english dub of Nausicaa is amazingly good, I even prefer it. Might be because I'm such a fan of Patrick Stewart.

karakun1: thats the thing, people wouldnt really accept watching japanese dub so they just dubbed cause they are lazy to read and that they can barely keep up with the subs. another thing is that we are watching the movie and taht if we read the subtitles we might miss something while looking at teh subs. good thing i can read and watch at the same time though. so its either read and watch or just dub it.
